James W. S. Yansen, Jr. is a committed Christian dedicated to living and sharing the
Gospel of Jesus Christ. His love for Christ and surrender to the Spirit of God form the
foundation of his life and ministry.
James is an ordained and anointed minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and has
served in ministry for over 20 years. He has been privileged to serve as a pastor, bible
teacher and lecturer in theology and religion, youth ministries specialist, revival speaker,
and evangelist. His ministry has taken him to various parts of the Caribbean, the United
States, France, England, and South Africa.
In 1995 James received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Theology and Biblical
Languages from Andrews University, Berrien Springs, MI. In 1997 he received a Master
of Divinity (M.Div) degree from Andrews University Theological Seminary. James
completed a Master of Sacred Theology (STM) in Biblical and Historical Studies in 2005,
and in 2016 completed a Ph.D. in Theological Studies with sub-concentrations in History
and Hermeneutics (Hebrew Bible) from Boston University School of Theology. His
dissertation is entitled “Daughter Zion’s Trauma: Reading the Book of Lamentations with
Insights from Trauma Studies.” He is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature.
Presently, James is the pastor of the Faith Seventh-day Adventist Church located in
Hartford, Connecticut. He joyfully shares in Christian service with his wife, Nadiège, and
their two children, Jedd and Joachim. Together, they are committed to building up the
Kingdom of God and manifesting Jesus Christ to the world.
James’ favorite bible passage is 1 Corinthians 9:16, “For though I preach the gospel, I
have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not
the gospel!”
